In over sixty years of involvement in social work—as practitioner, supervisor, teacher, consultant, and author—Helen Harris Perlman has become all but a legend. Helen Harris Perlman is the Samuel Deutsch Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. Her many published works include "Social Casework: A Problem-Solving Process; Persona: Social Role and Personality; "and "Relationship: The Heart of Helping People"; and, as editor, "Helping: Charlotte Towle on Social Work and Social Casework."
