The text explores Livingstone's background, the times he lived in, and his life as a missionary, doctor, explorer and opponent of the slave trade. It also looks at his remarkable friendship with H.M. Stanley, and the ultimate effect of his work in relation to colonial development and African nationalism.
Biografía del autor:
Peter Turner initially trained as a journalist. Entered teaching in 1954 after several years in industry. Joined Colonial Education Service in Kenya and taught in Nigeria under the Ministry for Overseas Development.
