Reseña del editor:
The world of fund-raising has a vocabulary all of its own. Some of the terms are drawn from Federal and other regulatory agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Code, Financial Accounting Standards Board, Congress, and other legislative bodies. Others come from the for-profit community such as marketing, management, and public relations practices. In most instances, however, the non-profit sector has customized the terms to the unique circumstances of charitable fund-raising. This dictionary provides definitions solely from the fund-raising perspective. With 1384 terms, it is an A-to-Z reference of fund-raising and non-profit terminology. Developed and refined over the last 20 years, it reflects trends and developments in the expanding and ever-changing field of professional fund-raising. This dictionary provides fund-raisers of diverse backgrounds with insights into the different implications and connotations of the special vocabulary they encounter in a philanthropic setting.
