Brenda's Place - Tapa dura

Life has always been tough for Brenda's family so it is no surprise that she must leave school at thirteen to work in the local factory. But things start look up when she is able to get a job at Alfio's hairdressers.

Brenda dreams of the day when she can have her own salon but when marries Harry, an old-fashioned man, she has to stop working, no wife of his should have to work for a living.
Brenda knows she should be grateful but she can't help but feel a twinge of regret until the arrival of her baby daughter sweeps her worries away.
