Katie Githens landed in Arlington, Virginia in 2005, a few months after graduating college. In the four years since, she's received a second education, this time schooled by the Old Dominion--fortunately not quite the school of hard knocks. The four years she has spent there have given her time to gather the lay of the land and explore the mountains, shores, and history of the affectionately-named Mother of Presidents. Katie honed her writing skills at The Aspen Times and Los Angeles Sports & Fitness magazine.
