The June 3, 10, 17 & 24 and July 1, 1939 issues of the Saturday Evening Post. Fiction includes most notably parts 3 - 7 (conclusion) of 7 of And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians), a mystery novel by Agatha Christie, and The Editor Regrets, a Drones Club short story by P G Wodehouse (7/1). Other fiction and articles include It's Just a Play, a short story by Gladys Taber (6/3), Tell Me About the War (6/10), a short story by J P Marquand, Widow Voyage (6/10), a short story by Philip Wylie, Wooden Wedding (6/10) a short story by George Sessions Perry, Idle Money - Idle Men (6/17), an article about proposals to solve the Depression by future presidential candidate Wendell Willkie, A Man From Fort Necessity (7/1), a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet, Charles' Gift (7/1), an article by detective fiction writer Hulbert Footner on the 17th century house he restored on the Chesapeake Bay, and others. Condition issues include: 6/3 - a small closed tear at the bottom of the front cover, and a .375" x 1" chip at the upper left of the back cover, with smaller chips diminishing through page 87, 6/10 - light soil to the front cover; 6/17 - light edge wear to the front cover with a 3.75" closed tear at the top at the spine; 6/24 - small dog ears at the top of pages 93 - 96, & a small closed tear at the top right of the back cover; and 7/1 - light wear to the fore edge of the front cover. A very good set with serial installments and short stories by a prominent and collectible authors, 1939 NY World's Fair ads, and pre-WW II related ads and articles. A heavy oversize set that may require additional postage.
