Inside gutter has been taped in an attempt to hold covers to text block, though they remain detached (but present). Covers are quite scuffed overall, laminate has cracked and peeling in some places. Paper along front hinge and paper over about 2 x 4 inches of front board is missing. Corners are quite bumped, revealing boards beneath. Previous owner's name written in ink on page opposite title page. Binding overall is quite fragile, but text block remains bound together and all pages are present. Color illustrations throughout are unfaded. Though a bit toned with age, interior remains quite clean, free of marks or tears. First American edition in poor condition, a reading copy only.
