A good regional guide to the far north of England, from Yorkshire to the Scottish Borders, with plenty of angling anecdotes and a couple of angling songs thrown in for good measure. "Here is a wee bit bookie, written by a true angler; and we are only sorry that it is but a wee bit bookie, for it is inspired with the right spirit, and have find a place in every library shelf." (Contemporary review). "In the appendix the author gives a well-written review of the older angling literature." (Westwood & Satchell).
