Hard cover. 5th printing. 921 p. Light blue both over boards. 25cm. Beveled volume edges. Thin paper. 2-column format. Bibliography. On title page, "This new edition includes the 1936 Pulitzer Prize Play, Idiot's Delight, by Robert Emmett Sherwood". Prior owner checkmarks and assignment numbers of 1 or 2 on contents page. This volume apparently was required reading for E.P. Wells, Dartmouth Class of 1939, a local student living at his family home, 3 Parkway in Hanover N.H. (partially noted on 1st free end paper). As he studied toward a medical career, these 17 plays perhaps offered perspective on the humanity he would serve. Very good. No dust jacket. Signed by previous owner. Age-toning where printer's glue underlies spine edge of end papers. Darkening top page block. Fading gold spine titles. Slight front end wobble. 1.
