Boards and inner slipcase quite clean, leather smooth and supple, unrubbed; outer slipcase moderately smudged w/ browning to paper spine label. 100 pp., tissue-protected frontis. portraits. Consists mainly of letters by Mary Shelley and Payne, with commentary by F.B. Sanborn.

Sanborn. Good. Cover has general wear, discoloration, foxing on leather. Bookplate of former owner ifc. Bookblock has age toning and page edge damage. Interior pages have minor age toning, some pages uncut due to printing.
