Librería: HORSE BOOKS PLUS LLC, Boston, VA, Estados Unidos de America
Libro Original o primera edición
Soft cover. Condición: Very Good +. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First Edition, Exceedingly rare and much sought biography of Ned Cash, A true 'Rags to Riches' story. A solid, straight, crisp and clean paperback in orange, black, and white illustrated card covers with wrap-around art. No names, tears or soil, just some color loss at periphery, and is not a former library copy. Sixty years ago (as of 1985), Ned was selling herrings for a shilling a dozen in Co. Kildare and trying to turn over a profit of one euro on each horse he sold to make ends meet. Today, operating out of Moy Stud, Summerhill, Co. Meath, he is one of the most successful horse dealers and breeders in these islands and has given the sport of Showjumping some of its best known horses including: Condy, Castlepark, Nordel, Lydican, Mostrim, Buttevant Boy, Bandalero, Hopeful Marcus, Derrypatrick, Look Out And Dun Gleen, To name but a few. There isn't a major competition in Ireland that one or other of Ned's horses hasn't won at some stage. Indeed, for the past twelve years, he has been represented every year on Ireland's Aga Khan teams by horses that he put through his hands, a unique record that is unlikely ever to be surpassed by any other single individual. The riders that have ridden Ned's horses add up to a "Who's Who of Showjumping" - Eddie Mackren, Graham Fletcher, Con Power, Paul Darragh, Billy Ringrose, George Stewart, Marian Coakes, Ted Edgar, James Kernan, Gerry Mullins, Michael Hickey, Seamus Hayes, Seamus Brennan, Larry Kiely, Etc, Etc. The Life and Times of Ned Cash would fill a big book but unfortunately even today (as of 1985), at 73 years of age, Ned has neither the time nor the inclination to be tied down to tell the whole story. Still, author Des Macguire, news editor of the Irish Farmers Journal, did manage to have five extensive interviews with him over a year's time, in between competitions, and horsedealing and his work of providing horses for the filming of the successful television series "The Irish R.M.
