A tight, clean, sound copy in purple cloth covered baords with an embossed graphics pattern overall with gold lettering on the spine and a gold graphic on the front with minor overall shelf wear plus there is some very, very light edge wear along the spine top and bottom edges plus there are some very, very slight nicks to the cloth on the right board edges plus there is some very, very light bumping to the right coners plus there is some very, very light fading on the spine plus there is some very light rubbing along the front and back spine edges plus there is some yellowing of the outside paper edges and front and back endpapers plus there is some light edge wear along the top board edges exposing a slivver of board (about 0.5" long) on the back board. Illustrated with a three color frontispiece and smaller monochrome drawings. A story about wealth and responsibility. It is considered one of Benét's best novels. 277p. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Reprint edition. Inside hinge has an 11 inch crack. Bumping to te head / tail of the spine. Rubbing to the edges / corners of the boards. Dust-staining to the top / bottom edges of the pages. The internal pages are clean, but have lightly browned with age. The binding is sound. This book would make a very interesting read!
