Publisher's name and address (Robinson-Weintraub, Sunset Blvd.) handwritten on front leaf. No indication of the eventual publisher or publication date (Playboy Press, 1976). Penciled code (cbcb) of rare bookseller Peter B. Howard of Serendipity Books, indicating that this came from the books that he bought from the estate of the great modern literature collector Carter Burden. A earlier draft of the third novel by the author of *Last Exit to Brooklyn* with a number of small scattered changes in the text.
